Shining light on the questions & answers that will have you feeling confident about planning your travel through Greece.

'Ela Opa! Travel is a specialized travel design, consulting, and coaching service exclusively focused on Greece honeymoons and authentic Greece vacation experiences - for travelers, not tourists.

  • A: 3-6 months is a very reasonable time-frame. Anything less than 2 months will be approved on a case-by-case basis.

If you're purchasing an Itinerary Audit or an a la carte service, that's something that can be completed within 2 months of departure, but it could be more difficult to make recommended adjustments to your existing plans if need be.

  • A: It all depends on what your travel goals are, but it's safe to say, anything less than 10 days will have you feeling rushed.

Keep in mind you'll lose one day traveling there; you'll have one really foggy jet-lag day; and lose another day coming back to the States.

You'll also want to consider travel time within the country if you're road-tripping through the mainland or hopping around to different Greek Islands.

  • A: A round-trip flight from the U.S. to Athens typically ranges from $1400-1800, depending on the departure city and time of year you're traveling. Flights are much less in the off-season (Nov-Mar)

After that, 10 days for two people, a minimum budget of $8000-12000 is a good place to start.

There are ways to spend less (selecting off-the-beaten path islands, more basic accommodations, using public transportation when available, shopping for & cooking meals yourself, etc.) and there are a thousand ways to spend more.

  • A: Summer beach season can start as early as May and run as late as October.

If historical sightseeing is a priority, shoulder seasons are ideal. The temperatures are mild and crowds are minimal.

While not top-of-mind, Greece in the winter is beautiful. The mountainous areas even have substantial snow-skiing options. Transportation and accommodation availability are more limited during off-season, so we would plan accordingly.

  • A: This depends on what service I'm providing to you, but typically, two adults. Additional travelers can be added.

  • A: In a traditional sense, maybe/no.

    In a real-life sense, yes.

My focus is strictly on the quality of your travel as it relates to you personally.

The deal is that you are not wasting time and money on inefficient or unnecessary logistics and your itinerary is designed in a way where you're spending time & money doing things that bring you the most joy (in regard to what joy means to you).

  • A: Having some key phrases at your disposal will most certainly help you, but it's not do or die.

Most people in the hospitality & service industry within Greece speak English.

Before you depart, we'll go over some relevant Greek that will be easy to implement into your travel (such as "Thank you", "I don't understand", and "I'm an American").

Pro Tip: Unless you're fully fluent, it doesn't benefit you to remember conversational sentences because asking a question in Greek will get you a response in Greek...and then what?! ;)

  • A: No, I don't because we're a society that has grown accustom to finding the best possible flight prices by experimenting with different variables.

I would be an unnecessary middle-man to you finding what's best for you. However, if you feel uncomfortable with this process, I can select and put a flight itinerary on hold for you and then give you the necessary information to complete the purchase.

  • A: I do have personal favorites, but only because I know they are quality operations owned by good, kind people. I would only recommend them if they're a good fit for you personally though. I will never push a certain hotel or service provider on you.

  • A: Your credit card will be used directly to book all travel elements, but only with your approval before doing so.

This allows for complete transparency and any necessary refunds going straight back to you.

  • A: No. The level of service I provide to you comes from dedicating my career to honing my expertise in Greece travel. Simply said, I just don't know other destinations like I know Greece and you would be better served on that portion of your trip by another travel advisor.

If an Italy-Greece or a Croatia-Greece combo is on your mind let's talk more - I have some options for you.
